DSL delayed by DHL

Well, I've been waiting and waiting for my self install kit to come so I can hook up the new computer. I was getting so frustrated because it said scheduled for delivery and never came. Well, it turns out Bellsouth mailed it to the wrong address. They had 1896 and my house number is 1846. This goes way back to when they were building my house. Apparently on the platte the person who wrote in that Lot 93 was 1846 did so with a closed 4 and someone else misread that 4 as a 9. So when I closed on the house, EVERYTHING had 1896. Well, I called about changing utilities from the builder's name to mine and everything seemed to be ok, I didn't get bills for them, but things were so hectic I didn't realize it. It was my first house, so I was getting furniture, and all kinds of things you have to worry about with a new house. Well, one day my water was turned off. I called about it and they told me they couldn't turn it back on because there was no such address. I was mad. I told them they had no trouble finding the address to shut the water off, why couldn't they find it to turn the water back on? So I ended up 3 days without water. The same thing happened with each utility as I called to complain. Eventually the city got involved and we had to redo the closing on the house with the corrected 1846 house number. I have no idea how Bellsouth came up with it after almost 6 years but they did. I had to call DHL and have them deliver it to my house instead of somewhere that doesn't exist. I'm lucky that it doesn't exist or I'd probably have tons more problems. Even getting the bus to pick Justin up for school was a problem because they told me my address wasn't on the map.

I've been kind of busy with work so I haven't posted in a couple of days. I ended up missing 1/2 day because of Justin's sprain. I had to go to the pediatrician (hey Paul-aren't you glad it isn't the gynocologist this time? lol), have them look at it, and then decide they needed x-rays. Then we had to go to the x-ray place, wait for the films and bring them back to the pediatrician so she could read them. It's not broken, he needs 14 days on an anti-inflammatory and to keep it wrapped for another week or so. If he doesn't feel better by the end of the week, I should call.

As is my usual habit when I'm stressed, the diet went out the window. I ate too little on Monday, and on Tuesday I did good until lunch....well, maybe dinner. I was starving because I left at lunchtime to take him to the doctor so after all the running around, I wasn't having lunch till 5:30pm. I grabbed a turkey on rye with mustard. That wasn't too criminal, so I guess it was dinner that I screwed up. They're asking me to be the cubmaster of the pack downstairs from where Jay's boy scout troop meets, and I'm stressed. I love the kids, but I don't know if I want to take on all that work for a program my son isn't even involved in anymore. So, I ended up not getting out of there until 9:30 and Justin wanted to eat at Zaxbys. I grabbed some fried mushrooms there, they were so good, but it was such a mistake. Then Wednesday I found out my sis hasn't been sticking to it either and I used that to excuse my behavior. Now, I'm back in the familiar thought pattern....my birthday is Tuesday, why start back now, I should wait until then. But we're celebrating it at work on the 17th, so I should wait till then, but we're talking about the dinner theater to celebrate on the 18th, so maybe I should wait till then. So, my weeklong birthday in my head is costing me like 10 days of dieting and that's just not right. I'm going to have to control myself. It's also frustrating that the doctor isn't taking the weight gain seriously. "You've only gained another 20 pounds" is not very reassuring.

Well, I have to work late tonight as it is so I guess I'll cut this break short here to keep from having to stay even later!

Sounds like maybe you should have taken Jason to the Pedotrist :-) that would have confused me even more!

Hang in there a birthday is only once a year - even though it seems like yours is happening about 5 times this year!

Thanks. Finally I got it installed on Thursday night, and got the computer into the desk on Friday night, and still needed a new printer on Saturday. But, I should be set for awhile now.
