Feeling in a funk

I think I'm getting a cold. Me and Airborne are becoming best buddies. I keep dreaming about Dad, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to do NS without the foods (apparently....I thought I'd done pretty well, but I'm up .5 this week). I've pretty much cut off my friends, because people being nice just makes me cry now. My friend from HS called this weekend and I regretted picking up the phone, and she hadn't even done anything. Then I get mad at myself for being selfish and just an all around not nice person. I guess I'm not the only one not doing well, my sister is on the verge of ending things with her boyfriend after more than 6 years. On a positive note for her, though, she started NS and lost 6 lbs her first week.....GO LAURA! She'd like to lose 10-20 lbs, and I commend her for not waiting till her weight is out of control like mine.

I've ordered The Thyroid Diet by Mary Shoman and another thyroid book, and I hope they'll come in this week. Justin had an amazon.com gift certificate from Christmas so I figured I'd jump in on his free shipping to pick those books up for myself. I'm really not sure where to put my focus right now, on the thyroid or the pcos, or just weight loss in general.

I've been reading some interesting info about cinnamon. They're saying it can help with belly fat and diabetes. I've seen different recommendations of how much, but it looks interesting to me. I'd like to find out more, and I'm sure I will since I just enjoy seeking knowledge.

Anyway, I'm just spending all my time with my nose in a book and avoiding most human life, and even my blog lately as I'm sure you have noticed.

You have to do what you have to do. If books are where you're finding solace and comfort right now, then just read and read. After all, you're not turning to food and I'm sure that a HUGE positive in your favor.

I think it's great that you sister is taking care of herself now. Definitely she'll avoid health problems in the future. Way to go on six pounds gone! That is a great accomplishment for her.

Cinnamon is supposed to be great and I make sure I use it every single day, in or on something. I figure the research is there, may as well make use of it.

Hang in there honey. The pain is still fresh and it's going to take a while for you to feel like yourself again. Big hugs!
