Keeping myself organized
So that I can track my progress and stay organized, I am entering everything at fitday.com. I can tell I'm still not feeling all that well, just in the way I'm eating. I realized last night that I had less than 1000 calories total after dinner when I was thinking of going to bed. So, I grabbed a zero carb candy bar and a cup of light soymilk and ended up at 1193. I want to be careful not to go too low, I get lectures about that all the time (but I still love you Tam, if you're reading this). I also had 19 "net" carbs. I ate pretty well too. I had a hamburger patty off the break truck for breakfast, with lettuce and tomato (figuring out what to eat there was rough, I only made the final decision to switch on my way into work yesterday). For lunch I had carb counter chicken from Captain D's. I left off the Tuscan vegetables (worried about too many carbs in those), and 1/2 the packet of ranch (too many calories in that, and the salad wasn't great so I ended up pulling out quite a bit of brown lettuce). I had chicken cooked on the George Foreman for dinner along with some grilled veggies and "mashed" cauliflower. I already talked about dessert.
I know I set my pedometer goal low this week because I wasn't feeling well. I don't know what ever made me think I could cut down to an average of 3500 per week. So far it looks like this:
M-9112
T-4613
W-6611
Th-5181
So even if I don't take another step this week I've exceeded my goal. My normal life is a little more active than I thought. Monday we were downtown and we walked from the lawyer's office to the courthouse, so that was something unusual. The other days are just my normal life...work, scouts, church class, etc. My goal is that next week I will feel good enough to get back to the gym, maybe even Sunday after church.
Thursday nights are rough on TV, I love both Survivor and Dancing with the Stars. Stacy is great, but I really want Drew to win. I think Lisa has come so far, and I hope this week it's Jerry that is out. He's done an impressive job for a football player, but the others are just better dancers, and this is going to be the finals after all. Speaking of which, I guess I'd better go cast my email vote! (P.S. Paul- Michael Bublé will be on the results show tonight if you're interested)

Wow Valerie sounds like you are back on track with the food - the switch to Atkins may just have been the ticket. Soon you will be Dancing with the Stars (figuratively anyway it not literally). Thanks for the Michael Buble tip but I got it too late :-(
